Testimony is an ongoing interactive documentary for Virtual Reality that shares the stories of survivors of sexual assault and their journey to healing. Beyond just a film, Testimony is an advocacy platform to allow the public to bear witness to those who have been silenced.

Testimony aims to tackle the obstacles women and men still face in order to report assault and confront the legal system. The goal of the Testimony Project is to inspire those who have been silenced to speak out, while showing survivors that they are not alone.

Premiering at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, the Testimony Project launched with the stories of five survivors of sexual assault and their journey to healing. Beyond just a film, the Testimony Project will also launch a WebVR platform to allow survivors to share their experiences via video, audio, or text, resulting in the largest archive of sexual assault testimony. The goal of the platform is to raise awareness that sexual assault is an epidemic that affects us all - our friends, our family, our children.

Rape and sexual assault are among the most under-reported crimes globally. Whether it be a flawed legal system or a society that isn't willing to listen, historically, few women have come forward with their stories. The allegations against Harvey Weinstein, Roger Ailes and others that spurred the #metoo campaign have helped create the perfect storm of public outcry over sexual assault and issues around consent. Despite persistent victim-shaming and the discounting of their experiences, survivors are increasingly sharing their stories, empowering one another to become agents of change.

In order to tell this story, Testimony Project employs a novel way to explore virtual space, combining interactive video and documentary storytelling to allow the viewer to participate in an immersive experience that is emotionally intense but also user controlled, offering an intimate space to listen and explore the voices that are often not heard in the media.
