A series of docu-shorts highlighting the successes, challenges, and supportive ecosystem of black creatives, innovators and entrepreneurs.

Inspired by the lack of representation regarding black entrepreneurs, creatives and innovators, The Thread is an innovative docu-series highlighting the stories, successes and challenges of Black entrepreneurs, creatives and innovators.

What is entrepreneurship? What does it look like in the Black community? Where is the representation? These seemingly simple questions changed the entire trajectory of my MBA studies. While advancing through my MBA entrepreneurial studies, I encountered many examples of entrepreneurship through case studies, readings, etc. It soon became apparent there was a lack of media representation regarding Black Americans in entrepreneurship, innovation and creative fields. This revelation changed the trajectory of my capstone project and inspired The Thread. The Thread highlights a day in the life of black creatives, entrepreneur and innovators.

“You can’t be what you can’t see”- Marian Wright Edelman

A budding entrepreneur (with an extensive background in events and marketing) turned filmmaker, the aforementioned quote change the trajectory of my MBA studies. With a fresh perspective and new purpose, I began my journey to create and distribute media with positive representation of people of color. I aspire to inspire by offering amazing content for various viewpoints to viewers of all ages, cultures and tastes.
