Interested In, Season 2

: Narrative Short
GENRE: Comedy
STATUS: Pre-Production

A coming of age web series about the steamy, fumbling sexual encounters of a recently out college student.

Interested In is a coming of age web series about recently out college student, Parker. We follow his journey through gay sexcapades, in Philadelphia, as he begins to find himself after "the closet." During his first openly gay hook up, Parker realizes he has much to learn. Through help from his best friend, Danny, and various hook up encounters, Parker learns to reinvent himself as he begins to freely express his sexuality for the first time.

I thought that I would immediately accept myself after I came out. But boy was I wrong. I still had so much shame about my sexual identity. As a young actor, I turned to film and television for guidance. But all the narratives about young gay men ended with the main character coming out or committing suicide. I was so sick of watching queer characters die. And I wanted to know what happened to the ones that lived through their shame. Interested In is an inclusive series dedicated to expanding queer representation. Queer media in the past has often had to create fantasy worlds for LGBT folks to live in. But it is important to portray LGBT folks front and center in their everyday lives. Many films pan away as soon as things are about to get steamy in the bedroom. Interested In is unapologetic in depicting queer sex and sexuality, and all the messiness and awkwardness that comes with it. The series proudly features an entirely queer cast. We are dedicated to casting under-represented actors to expand what it means to be LGBTQ+. Showing glimpses into the various lives of LGBT people will allow for more empathy within our community. It is validating to see your story on screen. So, we hope people continue to resonate with Parker’s journey, as he figures out what it means to be a gay man.
