When a group of populist Brazilian farmers take control over a new area of the Amazon rainforest, a conflict erupts at the forest's edge.

SYNOPSIS

Landlock is a character driven feature documentary set in the Brazilian Amazon.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

“Landlock” is a verite documentary, driven by on-the-ground access to the conflict over the Brazilian rainforest. Moving with each our our characters through the frontline communities involved in this fight, we stay up close and personal as the pressure increases on the individuals at the center of a global resource war. 

KEY CREW

Alex Pritz - Director / Producer

Alex Pritz is an American documentary filmmaker focused on humans relationship with the natural world. Recently, Alex worked as a cinematographer and field producer on Jon Kasbe's feature documentary, When Lambs Become Lions (Tribeca 2018), and as co-director, cinematographer, and editor on the documentary short, My Dear Kyrgyzstan (Atlanta 2019). Alex enjoys tackling complicated stories about the lives of ordinary people. Alex holds a B.Sc. from McGill University where he studied Ecological Determinants of Health. In 2012, he received an inaugural Dalai Lama Fellowship for his work developing film schools among low-income communities in the Philippines.
