Can communities successfully stop young people from killing and being killed? Is youth-on-youth violence preventable?

PREVENTABLE, the first national media treatment of the youth violence issue, will examine youth violence through a public health lens by profiling three major U.S. cities that are undertaking youth violence prevention. This 90-minute documentary will suggest possible best practices or model programs which any community across the globe can use to lower homicide and arrest rates among youth.

PREVENTABLE will profile three cities at varying stages of youth violence prevention implementation to examine approaches to reducing homicides and arrests among youth and preventing violence before it occurs.

PREVENTABLE will both highlight specific programs in each city that are proving effective in lowering homicide and arrest rates among youth as well as feature intimate portraits of at-risk youth, slain youth who have fallen victim to violence, and families so profoundly affected by this epidemic.
